I’m thrilled to be launching the first releases of a project called The 2×2 Sessions.
2×2 is just shorthand for Two Songs By Two Artists. This first collaboration is with my friend Rawce who runs the songwriter sessions at the Irish Haven. Rawce is featured on the Bucket song Walls, and vice-versa for Rawce’s song Here In New York.
Each of these was recorded as a live take, similar to the style of a Tiny Desk concert recording, after taking time to learn each other’s songs. The recording space in this case was in the Music Building on 8th Avenue in Manhattan, so a bit of noise in the background bleeds through from time to time. It’s all part of the fun.
